The course enables students to develop a thorough understanding of writing and submitting a research paper. Throughout the programme, the focus is on teaching what is essential while avoiding overly complicated and unnecessary material.

Other than the weekly mandatory live classes, the course does not require any fixed time commitment.

Time Commitment Required
The course runs over three months (13 weeks) and requires a time commitment of 5-6 hours per week.

Course Structure
The course comprises of pre-recorded self-learning modules and live mentoring sessions.

Each class group will comprise of 6-8 course participants and will have a distinguished research leader as its mentor.

Week -1: The course will commence with a live introductory class to go over the course objectives, curriculum, and expectations.

Week -2 to Week -4: The next three weeks will comprise of self-learning. Participants will be required to complete the pre-recorded modules which have been designed to provide the foundational knowledge of writing a research paper. All participants should complete the pre-recorded training modules by the end of Week 4.

Week -5 to Week -13: Live weekly mentoring sessions will start from Week 5 and continue till Week 13. These sessions will be conducted by your research mentor who will guide the group on the research and writing of a research paper. The research mentor will guide the topic selection and assign roles and responsibilities for conducting the research and writing the paper.

By the end of Week -13, you will have a submission-ready manuscript / research paper with you as a co-author.

Published Research Paper
Your research mentor will submit the prepared research paper to a suitable journal and coordinate all future communication with the journal. If revisions are required on peer-review, the learning group will be tasked to do the revisions. Publishing a submission-ready research paper in a peer-reviewed journal can take up to two months, as good quality journals follow a stringent peer-review, formatting, and publishing process. Your research mentor will continue to support you in the role of corresponding author until the research paper has been published.

The course will be mentored by a distinguished research leader assigned by MENA Medical Research. The mentor will be a University Faculty or Research Scientist with over 10 years of research experience and high research output.

This course has a rolling start date and new course batches are started every month. You will be informed of the course start date if your application is successful. Course payment will only be due after course start date has been finalized and agreed with you.

Each group will typically comprise of 6-8 participants who will work together to research and write the paper.

The course mentor will guide the selection of research topic.

All course participants will be a co-author on the publication they work on. The course mentor will be the corresponding author and will be responsible for submitting the publication to journals and handling the correspondence.

By the end of 3 months, you will have a publication ready manuscript / research paper. This manuscript will then be submitted to a journal for publication. Peer-reviewed journals follow a stringent review process and usually take 2-3 months to publish the research article. Your research mentor will oversee the correspondence with the journal and keep you updated on the publishing process.

Yes. All participants who complete this course will get a course completion certificate.

Taking this course individually will substantially increase the amount of work that you would need to do in researching and writing the paper due to which it may not be possible to have a submission ready research paper at the end of three months. Furthermore, the cost of taking this course individually will also be substantially higher.
